Install Flash Player My car was recently totaled in an accident (not-at-fault thankfully) so I wanted to get a good dash cam, in case there's ever any ambiguity in a future accident. This thing is high quality. The packaging was simple and pleasing, which felt like opening an Apple product, and there is 24/7 customer service. It took me about 2 minutes in all to install on my dash. There are included instructions about how to install it and how to use the app. The video quality is really good, even at night. If you say "OK, Presto", it will create a clip of that timeframe and save it in the app, which I've used mainly for fun so far (karaoke, giving myself a reminder). Regardless, I can always go into the "History" portion of the app if I want to see anything that happened. Overall, I feel much better having it. BONUS: If you ever forget where you parked your car, you can open up the app and see it on the map!

Install Flash Player The setup was amazingly quick and easy...might have been about 10 minutes from when I opened the box, to driving with full functionality and app access. You simply scan a provided QR code on the instructions, which starts a video on your phone. When the camera is in place, you scan another provided QR code and it downloads the app and connects the camera to your phone. Typing this review took longer than setting up this camera. I drive all over town all day with multiple stops and it's nice to have a set an extra set of "eyes" helping out. When not driving, this camera records "event" video when it senses an impact or loud noises, and I get notifications and video sent to my phone when that happens. The app also allows you to see what the camera is seeing anytime on your phone! The camera has a low profile and is well designed when compared to others. It has multiple mounting arms (height from dash to camera) so it looks really cool when installed. The voice command to record clips is a cool feature and you can create clips outside and inside the vehicle while you are driving with the voice command. You can turn off the display and still record, and you can show inside and outside views, or outside view only if you like, on the display. It has a lot of cool features that were a little overwhelming at first (I'm not a tech person), but after some use it made sense.

Set my Owl up a few days ago and I'm really happy with it. I'll be honest, I was a bit nervous that installing it in my car would be tricky but it was a breeze. Plugged it in to the OBD port (first time I've ever even noticed that thing in my car), tucked the wires in between the dashboard and windshield with this cool little tool, attached the camera to the windshield, and BOOM I was done. Oh and pairing the camera to the app on my phone was the simplest process of any gadget I've ever set up (*cough* Amazon Echo *cough*). Besides the setup experience, the camera itself is really slick. The quality of the video from both the interior and front-facing camera is really good, even when I'm driving at night. Also, I like that I can disable the inside-facing camera and microphone if I want. When it's just me driving, I like to have those on, but if I have friends in the car I like to have the option to turn it off to respect their privacy. I was a little confused about how credits worked so I reached out to Owl's customer service and they were really helpful and answered all my questions (they even told me how to connect directly to my Owl over WiFi so I can look at clips without using any credits). All-in-all, Owl was a great purchase. Luckily, I haven't had the opportunity to use it during a break-in or accident, but the peace of mind knowing my car is protected when I park it somewhere I'm not familiar with is worth a lot. It's reassuring to be able to get alerts if something happens and see live video from anywhere.

Easy to use even for a first timer like me
I bought this dash cam to be able to record inside and outside of my car since I have recently started driving for Uber and my old dash cam only recorded from the front. It was easy to install, I had it set up in just a few minutes. I have an android phone, and my girlfriend has an iPhone, and we both can access the videos easily through the app. Although I can't watch the videos recorded when connected to Wifi (support said it was coming soon) my LTE connection is perfectly fine and the video playback has no lag like I had with my previous dash cam. Just having the camera on with the display has made my job a lot better because people notice it right away and most likely act a little nicer. Overall great design. I am happy with my purchase :-)

Install Flash Player I love my Owl so far! It’s a really solid piece of equipment and feels high quality. It looks great above my dashboard and makes my car look a bit more high-tech. The screen is crisp and super responsive to my touch. I’d had several dashboard-mounted pieces of tech (Garmin GPS systems, etc.) and none looked as good as this car camera or felt nearly as well-designed. The installation took only a few minutes and was extremely easy. I was able to hide the wires to the point that the camera looks like it came stock with the car. You plug the camera’s wire right into the car’s OBD port under the steering wheel. Side note: I did a little digging and found out that the OBD connection used by the Owl only has the pins necessary to draw power, so it can’t control your car in any way (i.e. if anyone were to somehow hack the device they couldn’t gain access to your car). Features: The camera has a blinking green light facing out of the windshield as well as floodlights to deter theft. They’re quite bright and I imagine will warn people trying to break into the car. It also has two-way talk so you can speak to any thieves you might catch. I love the OK Presto feature which allows you to mark a clip for later. The app: The app is super easy to use and well-designed. Accessing your videos is quite easy and the timeline features makes it simple to find a particular event. Video: The video is of surprisingly high quality and not pixelated in the slightest. The camera also has night vision and takes really sharp videos at night. I was a bit worried about having a camera recording the inside of the car while we’re driving, but I found that it’s very easy to turn off the inside camera by just swiping the screen. All of the privacy features (ability to turn off the inside camera, video accessible only by your phone, etc.) make the Owl decidedly not creepy unlike some other cam cameras I researched. Lastly, I called customer service with some questions and installation help (quite late nonetheless). Amazingly, I got a real person on the line and they were very helpful! Overall, if you have any interested in protecting your car, the Owl camera is the way to go. It has all the features you could hope for without compromising style or privacy.

Amazing quality car camera!
I am extremely happy with my owl cam. I’ve been wanting a dash cam for a while and this is so much more than that. What was most important to me was the quality of the video and this camera definitely delivers on that, extremely high-quality video for both day and night. Another component I love is the social aspect of Owl, sharing clips is extremely easy and it captures moments you wouldn’t be able to otherwise. In looking for a camera I was nervous about how it would integrate into the look of my car but they have definitely thought about that and figure it out, the cords remain hidden so your car still looks sleek and clean, the Owl looks like it was built for my car!

First, shipping was fast and came in really nice packaging. Installation was very easy and I did it myself in minutes. I have had it for several days now and I'm very happy with it. The video quality is high end and I love the fact that the green light comes on when I leave my car. Overall the Owl cam has given me peace of mind, while driving and even when my car is parked.

Ok, so I was a little skeptical before I bought this. My car has been broken into a million times, and I'm not really sure that a fancy dash cam would help that much. I also was a little worried about the price. But a friend got one, and told me to go for it. And I am happy to report I LOVE it!! Worth every cent. Highly recommended. First off, it feels amazing to drive around knowing that I'm capturing everything that is happening at any given moment. Thats super important here in LA. I'm always inches away from a horrendous accident. So it captures that, and then makes it really easy to review the footage in the app if I need to at any time. I have three kids and it makes me feel so so so much better. That can't be said enough. Secondly, I feel 1000000x better when my car is parked in my driveway at night. I can actually get a live view of whats happening inside and outside of the car when I'm inside, and that is just awesome. I used the feature when my car was at the mechanic the other day to see what they were doing with my car when I wasn't there. Pretty slick. Mechanic had no idea, hahaha. They have a bunch of cool social features--- I can record me and the kids singing in the car etc. I like that but haven't used it too much as of yet. It's more just the piece of mind. When I get alerts on my phone it actually makes me happy. like I have an extra set of eyes. The whole thing is very sleek and well designed, and beautiful. No obvious design flaws so far....it's like goooood good. The app is also first rate, not some junky app from a cheap manufacturer. I love this thing enough to tell all of my friends and family. Why wouldn't you do this? I feel like this is the future, and I can legitimately say this is awesome and worth the money. Watch some of the clips they have where they caught people breaking in the car and then you will buy this thing in a second. Thanks Owl. Hope you guys keep innovating and thinking of new stuff.

Best investment for my car in YEARS!
Funny how a camera can do so much for your sense of security, and sense of empowerment. Sounds corny i know, but it was the best purchase i've made for myself in years! Obviously the camera offers footage (both in and out) of the car, but the ability to feel that someone has your back in case of an incident means so much more. California traffic can be horrendous. Countless times i've complained to my co-workers that i almost got hit by someone driving, or someone cut me off. Even though they joked at me that it must be me, i started to wonder... was it me? After getting this camera, i can now offer proof of the the idiot drivers out there! not even for proof to my friends, but in case there is an accident, i know that OWL Cameras has my back! The camera came packaged extremely well, and super quick. Installation was a breeze. i actually thought i was doing it wrong since it was so easy! haha Owl provides a selection of "tails" to adjust to the size of your dash/windshield. thankfully so, since my car is quite long. Syncing to the App was just as easy. Visually, it looks clean and nice. Whether you have a clunker, or a high-end luxury car, you'll be glad you have this. The camera looks high end, and is high end. footage is great! it's clean on the dash, wires are hidden and there's no problem having the camera sitting in the windshield. sometimes i forget it's even there. While i do have a security system, people don't seem to care if an alarm goes off. with this set up, there's a blinking green light outside my windshield, that glows to let people know something's watchin them. and if someone does decide to break into my car, an alert/footage is sent to my phone... all saved securely. so at least i have proof that someone is doing something wrong. perfect for the police, insurance, and to blast on social media. While, maybe not as important, still a great reason to have.... social media! it's cool that this will allow you to capture events HANDS FREE! no need to fiddle around your phone and possibly get into an accident. all you need to say is "OK PRESTO" and it will send a clip to your phone... you can even give it a title w/o the need to type it in. All while maintaining full control of your car. Awesome. Definitely more than happy with my purchase!

A recording for peace of mind (security) and special moments between family and/or friends
As a mom of two littles I was excited to install the owl cam. Not only for the safety of our vehicle (the camera is recording at all times) but to have the ability to catch the funny antics of my kiddos while I drive. For example, if my kids are singing a song together I can say "ok presto" and the video clip at that moment will automatically save to my phone under clips. The camera allows me to be fully focused on the road, and allows me to go back and watch the sweet moments between my kids at a later date. The quality of picture and sound is great dusk or dawn. No crazy glare or static. This is a video monitoring system for your car, a baby cam if you will, a peace of mind; a sense of security or precious moments. We ❤️
